Round up the Herd!

A few months ago we received a lovely message from Sharon at Build a Bear Glasgow - I think you'll all agree 3 good deeds can make a huge difference!!! We just need to decide what we're going to do with this particular herd of cows! Exciting stuff!

Message from Sharon:

I'm writing to let you know about something that happened in the company that I work for, Build-A-Bear Workshop. We as a company were supporting 'Pay It Forward Day' in April and then we continued this theme in May with 'Go Ahead...Make My Day'. The idea was to do an unexpected good deed, it could be something simple like holding a door open for a stranger, volunteering for a charity or even paying for the persons coffee behind you at Starbucks. You explain to them that if they can or have the desire to, they can pay it forward and try to do 3 good deeds for other people and so it goes on and grows.

On our staff room wall we had a poster where everyone wrote up the things they had done throughout the month. On this poster I attached your leaflet for Chloes Chemoo Cows and asked my team if they'd like to donate towards buying a plush Build-A-Bear Workshop cow to give to Chloe's charity. I had heard about Chloe's battle through my close friend Samantha Moore and although I never met Chloe was upset to hear the sad news last year. I felt there must be something I could do to try and help in some small way. When your charity was set up and the cow played such a large part in it I was just waiting for Build-A-Bear Workshop to release a cow and then in May this year they did :)

Build a Bear Glasgow

To cut a long story short, some of the team chipped in and bought cows together, a manager in Plymouth heard what we were doing and sent me his bank card details to pay for a cow (!), other members of our company and team donated a whole cow by themselves, our cow thermoometre was filling up! Then our Aberdeen store decided to join in and over one weekend collected enough money to be able to send us 10 cows with personalised messages recorded inside them - we were delighted :)

In the end we have made about 30 cows for you, they are all stuffed and ready to go to new homes and will hopefully help to make a few wee faces smile somewhere.

Beary big hugs,

A huge Thank-moo to Barbara and her fellow students who are studying beauty therapy at James Watt College in Kilwinning. They held a charity pamper event on 4/02/2013 and chose our charity to receive the proceeds from the event.

Their event offered pamper treatments such as manicures, waxing, facials, cow print nail art, cupcakes and face painting, not forgetting our cow-tastic Chemoo Cow wristbands. In just 2 hours these moo-rific students raised a whopping £473.86, they must have worked their hooves off!

Chloe's Climbing Cows are back!
Some of you may remember the 'cow climb' last year up Goat Fell. This year the boys will be climbing Ben Lomond on Saturday 16th March 2013, once again dressed as cows! The 'climbing cows' received an a-moo-zing amount of support last year and helped to raise awareness of our charity.

We think they are hoof-tastic for taking the climb to the next level and look forward to seeing the pics of Chloe's Climbing Cows at the top of Ben Lomond.
